August 31, 2017, Portland, Oregon — Local arts education nonprofit organization Vibe of Portland is pleased to announce that Yassi Irajpanah has been named the new Development Director.  This is a new position for the organization and is in part funded by a generous grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust.  Irajpanah joins the organization as they celebrate their 10th anniversary and move to a new studio in SE Portland.

Irajpanah is a Portland area native, with deep ties to the community and extensive experience within the local nonprofit sector.  She joins Vibe of Portland following a career in banking, where she led a local Bank’s nonprofit business banking and community involvement. It is there that Irajpanah first was introduced to Vibe of Portland, when the organization first obtained its nonprofit status.  She has since supported the organization in various forms, initially as Banker and most recently as an art camp parent.  She is committed to making a positive impact on her community through her work and volunteer efforts, and has served an impressive list of local organizations as banker, advisor, and volunteer.  She currently serves on the Boards of YWCA and World Affairs Council of Oregon.

“I believe from the depths of my soul that arts education can be a catalyst for change.  It is a great honor to support Vibe of Portland in that effort by expanding its reach through community partnerships.  I’m excited to share Vibe’s story and  further connect the organization’s mission throughout our community.” says Irajpanah.

Vibe of Portland’s mission is to empower Portland’s youth through art and music, inspiring the next generation of creative leaders.

Big News!!! Vibe’s studio is moving!

Vibe of Portland has been selected by  SE Uplift to lease Tabor Commons!

Tabor Commons is located at SE 57th and Division St. in SE Portland. You might know the building as the former Cafe Au Play space: an amazing coffee shop that connected the community and was a great space for kids events. We are thrilled to continue in that spirit of community by moving our studio from TaborSpace to the Tabor Commons building. The SE Uplift’s Executive Committee unanimously approved our occupancy of the space as recommended by their selection committee. We will be getting the new studio space ready during May to get everything set for summer with our first Pint Size Picasso camp starting June 12th.

Here are 2 ways you can help move Vibe to the new studio :
1: Join us on May 20th for a work party to weed the grounds, help build a fence, or clean and organize inside the new studio. Click HERE to let us know you’re coming to help!

2 : Support our move with a financial gift. Supplies needed for a successful start to camps include tables and chairs, storage bins, and a refrigerator. We are planning a Kickstarter-like campaign for some bigger dreams in the near future… more info on that coming soon!
